Berivan Güzel

Berivan Güzel is an architect and a postgraduate student. She graduated from the Department of Architecture at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2022. She lives in Istanbul and is currently pursuing postgraduate education in the Architectural Design Programme at Istanbul Technical University, where her architectural design research engages with feminist new materialist discussions. In her current work, she brings together architectural theory and filmmaking, through which film becomes a speculative, otherworldly narrative.

Bihter Almaç

Bihter Almaç is a researcher of the architecture of the other and the weird. Her design research focuses on tactics for peculiar creativities. These investigations, which trace existentially clumsy formations by trespassing to the wild realms of architecture, are practiced through drawings, architectural objects—games, tools, devices—and architectural essay films. These works have been exhibited at international festivals, exhibitions, and venues such as the London Design Biennale, London Architecture Festival, Essay Film Festival, Royal Academy of the Arts London, Hong Kong Design Institute, SALT and Good Design Izmir. Her research was selected for the 40 Under 40 Young Architects of Turkey by The Circle O. Bihter Almaç is an associate professor in the Department of Architecture at Istanbul Technical University. Her architecture design studio, which is part of her research, was exhibited this year at Salt Galata and the 3rd Upcycle Art and Design Festival. Additionally, the films from her postgraduate course, Architectural Essay Film Practices, were featured at Versus Art Space and the International Istanbul Architecture Film Festival.
