Elaine Bonavia

Elaine Bonavia (born 1991) is an experimental architect, researcher and artist interested in movement, materiality and spatial perception. She is currently working on her practice-based PhD on Spatial Drawing: Thinking with Materials through Movement as part of the Programm Entwurfsbasierte Promotion at TU Dortmund. She has a Masters in computational design and architectural design research from the University of Stuttgart. More recently, she has been an Artistic Associate and Lecturer within the Textile & Material Design department at the Weißensee School of Art and Design in Berlin. She worked at the Excellence Cluster « Matters of Activity » on the project Syntopia 1 — soma | body, co-producing a hand-crafted, filament-based architectural installation using a wearable augmented reality (AR) framework which was exhibited at the Tieranatomisches Theater throughout 2023.
