Gertrud Fischbacher

Gertrud Fischbacher is a researcher, artist, and educator at the Institute for Open Arts at Mozarteum University Salzburg. She is the principal investigator of the arts-based research project The Nexus of Textile and Sound, funded by the PEEK programme (Development and Exploration of the Arts) of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) from 2022 to 2026.

Working across artistic photography and video, her practice explores the contemporary representation of nature, with a focus on materiality, perception, and interdisciplinary approaches.
