Uğur Sarışen

Uğur Sarışen (b. 1992, Istanbul) is an architect and researcher based in Istanbul. His works examines the ontological dimensions and transformative potentials of space, with a focus on nonhuman, post-humanist, and post-anthropocentric scenarios in the context of otherness in architecture. In 2016, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Architecture, where he now works as a research assistant. He completed his master’s thesis, A Post-Anthropocentric Approach in Architectural Theory: Debating on the Animal in the Context of Its Possessions in Architectural Neurophenomenology in 2019. His ongoing PhD in Architectural Design at ITU develops the concept of ruinous autography as a methodology to critically document the spatio-temporalities of the others in architecture.

Ayşe Şentürer

Ayşe Şentürer is a Professor of Architecture at the Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture. She teaches undergraduate architectural design studios and diploma projects, and offers courses and supervises theses in the Architectural Design graduate program. Her research and publications focus on the intersections of architectural design, theory, and criticism, representation and aesthetics.

She has been a visiting scholar and studio instructor at several institutions including Harvard Graduate School of Design, University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, RMIT University, Eastern Mediterranean University, and The New School. Şentürer has participated in numerous international conferences, panels, exhibitions, and juries, and has received several awards. She has also published widely on architecture, architectural/urban/rural design, and architectural education
